High school career and technology program Most high schools offer career and technology programs in several dif- ferent career fields (e.g., carpentry, computer technology, cosmetology, dental assisting). Two-year college Community and technical colleges provide afford- able programs that make it possible for students to begin their career after two years of college or less. Careers you can prepare for at a two-year college include business, law enforcement, early childhood education, interior design, and engineer- ing technology. Four-year college A four-year college education can open doors and provide a wide range of career choices and oppor- tunities. While all four-year colleges want bright, well-prepared students, they vary greatly in their size, costs, and in the majors they offer.
