Doing these four things on a regular basis will make your study time much more productive. 1. Before you start your homework, make a plan. 2. Prioritize your work to make sure that you have enough time for the things that are the most important. 3. If you have a large assignment, break it down into smaller parts. 4. Do difficult assignments first, while you’re still fresh. OUTSIDE ASSIGNMENT – When you study for your next test, do as many of the things listed below as possible. Check off the ones you do. Have all the reading done ahead of time. Pay close attention the day before the test. Teach the material to yourself in a mirror. Make flash cards. Review your notes. Go over textbook review questions and words in bold and italic. Use strategies to help you memorize information. 1. See it in your mind. Suppose that you need to memorize the vo- cabulary word below for your Spanish class. Look at the word. Close your eyes, and try to see it in your mind. Repeat this process. escuela – school 2. Make a sentence. Take the first letter of the items you want to remember and use them to create a silly sentence. For example, to re- member these five presidents in order, you could make up a sentence like the one below.: Reagan Bush Clinton Bush Obama Ringo bought cowboy boots online.
