Don’t stress out if your friends don’t have the same lunch period. You’ll probably know some kids who have lunch the same time as you do—and you’ll soon get to know more. People say that change is good. And that’s true. But change can also be scary. In middle school, you have new routines, new classes, new teachers—and there’s a whole lot more going on. To help you figure out how to deal with these changes—and go with the flow—here is some expert advice from kids who have been there. Changing classes is cool because you get to move around and see your friends. Changing Classes The trick is to organize your books so that you don’t have to keep going back to your locker between classes. Lockers It’s great having a place to put your stuff—but keep it neat so you can find what you need quickly. You don’t want to spend the time between classes fumbling around in your locker. A lot of new kids worry about being able to find their classes, or remembering their locker combination. Don’t worry.
