Talk to your parents about what’s happening in school—and about what you and your friends are doing. 2. Never be disrespectful. 3. Bring your friends home and introduce them to your parents. 4. Make a real effort to do well in school. 5. Do chores without complaining. 6. Always say where you’re going, and check in often. 7. If you’ve done something wrong, don’t lie about it. Admit what you’ve done and accept the consequences. 8. Speak up. If there is something that you want or need, or if you have a problem, say some- thing. Your family members aren’t mind read- ers. You have to help them understand what you need from them.
