The decision-making process Most of the choices you make aren’t that impor- tant (what to wear, what to eat, what TV shows to watch, etc.). Some choices, however, need to be given careful thought and consideration. When you have an important choice or decision to make, try going through the following four steps: Step 1 - Determine your choices. Step 2 - Make sure that you have all of the information you need to make your decision. Step 3 - Take a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle. On one side, list the positive things about each choice. On the other side, list the negative things. Step 4 - Consider the positive and negative aspects of each choice. Then make your decision. As a middle school student, you must be prepared to accept responsibility for your actions and for the choices and decisions you make.
