Prepare Mind and Body In order to do well on any test, you must prepare both mind and body. “Striving for success without hard work is like trying to harvest where you haven’t planted.” David Bly u The night before a test, get eight hours of sleep. u If there’s something you want to remember, think about it right before you go to sleep. u Get up early enough to eat a good breakfast and not be rushed. u Practice visualization. Close your eyes and imagine yourself taking the test, answering the questions correctly, and getting the grade you want. u Get to class early and bring everything you need. Walk into the classroom with your head up and your shoulders back. If you act confident, you just may find that you feel more confident. u Before you begin, think positive thoughts. If you’re feeling anxious, take several slow, deep breaths. u Relax, and do your best.
