Kindergarteners spend a good deal of time in school learning about numbers, counting, shapes, sorting, and grouping. As your child works on math skills and con- cepts in school, there are a number of things you can do at home to further develop your Kindergartener’s math skills. Any learning activity you do with your child should be playful and fun. The math activi- ties presented here take very little time, and they’re easy for any parent to do. In math, skills are built on top of each other—you need to know one concept in order to go on to the next. It is, therefore, important for young students to develop a strong math foundation.
